[note] Q. What I have read about Dodge City, Kansas, and seen in films and on TV leads me to believe it was about the most backward town on the frontier. Was this so?
A. Dodge City had a cultural life that was seldom depicted for the public in films. The painting, shown here, titled A Frontier Christmas in Dodge City, [A Frontier Christmas in Dodge City is underlined] and painted by the noted artist, H. Charles McBarron, better depicts the warm companionship of family and friends than has been otherwise done in film or story. Dodge is still a friendly town. Photo is of a family dinner. There are children and adults sitting and standing. There is a lady in the back washing a plate. There is a dog sitting facing the table.
