Q. It must have be disappointing for old-timers who have returned to their homesteads to see them settling back to the earth?
A. Positively. One old man said:”My old claim was a great disappointment of weeds, stunted trees, my abandoned shack and broken-down windmill tower. It is most painful for one my age (77) to return to those scenes of 60 years ago and find no one there to greet me. All are gone now, gone, gone.”
